Day 116 – Shorts are ruining your channel

Play episode

Welcome back to our journey! On Day 116 of striving to become a millionaire, we’re diving into the world of content creation, brand growth, and the intricacies of passive income generation.

Building Brands and Exploring SMMA

Our main focus has been on YouTube channels, aiming to grow them into a substantial source of passive income, targeting about $5,000 monthly. Beyond this, there’s an exciting new venture on the horizon: Social Media Management and Assistance (SMMA). This involves leveraging skills acquired over years of brand development to assist local businesses with website creation, content production, and overall brand enhancement. The goal? To generate a decent income to improve our financial position, though it’s acknowledged that SMMA might require a more active involvement than preferred.

The Art of Passive Income

A critical aspect of our strategy is cultivating passive income streams. The YouTube channel, for instance, earns money without needing constant active input, thanks to a well-developed content library and an efficient system for email gathering and affiliate marketing. However, the reality of maintaining and updating content means it’s not entirely hands-off. The vision is to create brands that require minimal active management.

Debt Management and Investment

Part of this journey involves clearing debts and investing in essential equipment. The SMMA venture seems promising for generating quick income, offering services like content filming and daily social media posts to businesses. This could be a more immediate solution compared to the gradual income growth from YouTube channels.

The YouTube Experience: Quality vs. Quantity

Our YouTube journey has been a mix of trials and triumphs. Recently, a focus on quality over quantity has yielded impressive results, with a single video earning significant revenue in just a few days. This success has sparked a series of ideas for similar high-quality content.

A user comment provided an insightful perspective: initially, quantity might help in gaining a niche audience, but quality becomes crucial for scaling. This aligns with our experience of growing channels quickly through quantity, but now realizing the importance of quality for sustained growth and competition.

Rethinking Strategy: Long vs. Short Content

An interesting observation is the different dynamics of short and long-form content. While shorts can inflate subscriber numbers, they don’t necessarily translate to viewership or revenue for longer videos. The key is to align shorts with the brand and what viewers can expect from longer content. This ensures growth without compromising the audience’s expectations or engagement.

Daily Life and Personal Insights

On a more personal note, Day 116 started with early video editing and analysis of recent content performance. The day progressed with work and reflections on personal health and diet, particularly the impact of certain foods on energy levels.

Looking Forward

As we step into Day 117, it’s about balancing content creation, exploring new ventures like SMMA, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The journey continues with more learning, adapting, and growing towards that millionaire goal.

Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, thanks for joining me on this journey. Peace out!
