Day 120 – Doing Taxes and Burning Out

Play episode

Welcome back to my journey towards becoming a millionaire! On Day 120 of this intense grind, I want to share some candid thoughts with you all. Yesterday, I skipped my daily video to focus on work, but I’m here today, despite the fatigue.

The Impact of Cutting Out Caffeine

Lately, I’ve been feeling incredibly exhausted. Ever since I cut out caffeine, it’s been a struggle to stay energized. I used to be able to work before and after my day job, but now, I find myself just wanting to sleep. I’m questioning whether this is laziness or a genuine need for rest. It’s concerning, as I start feeling tired, even midday. Despite saving a significant amount of money by not buying energy drinks, I’m contemplating whether I should switch to coffee or tea, though I’m not a fan of either.

Balancing Work, Taxes, and Side Hustles

A Sunday Break with My Dog

Today, after work, I took a much-needed break. I walked my dog to a nearby brewery with a dog park. She enjoyed playing with other dogs while I caught up on some phone tasks. It’s essential to take these little breaks, even when you’re on a mission like mine.

Tackling Taxes: DIY Approach

I also started working on my taxes. I believe in doing them yourself if they’re not too complex. With my W2 and 1099 forms, I find the process straightforward. I used to pay someone for this, but it’s something most can handle, especially if you only have a W2. I’m anticipating a decent return this year, which is a nice change from almost owing money in the past.

The Reality of Tax Returns vs. Earning More

I’ve realized that while getting a tax return is nice, earning extra money through side hustles like YouTube and affiliate marketing is more beneficial. For instance, earning an additional $15,000-$20,000 a year is far more impactful than a $1,200 tax return.

Struggles with Energy and Productivity

The Challenge of Balancing Work and Side Projects

I’ve been feeling burnt out lately. My energy levels are low, making it hard to stay consistent with video creation and other tasks. Even though I work fewer hours at my day job, the fatigue is real.

Reflecting on Lifestyle Choices

Yesterday, I took my dog for a walk downtown. Observing people enjoying their weekend, I pondered their happiness and lifestyle choices. It reinforced my belief that everyone needs to find what makes them truly happy.

Planning Ahead

Tomorrow is my day off, and I’ll use it to plan and hopefully regain my momentum. I recognize the importance of taking breaks and listening to my body. I might need a few days to recuperate, but I’m determined to get back on track.

Conclusion: Staying Committed Despite Challenges

Even on tough days like today, where I don’t accomplish as much as I’d like, I remain committed to my goal. I believe in the power of perseverance and learning from every step of this journey. If you have any suggestions or motivational tips, please share them in the comments. Let’s see what Day 121 brings!
